Week 6,7

during the past two week, our group have completed 99% of our IE project, well done.

one bug is stillmy coonection, Yan and i spent long time try to fix it , anyway, fianlly it can run on my computer although i can not modify code of the program, becasue the conenctor is "Read-Only"

we have group meeting with andrew this week, and have to change a bit, but not too much stuff have to change .

we'll finish it soon.

Week4

This week, we continued coding task, connection problem still can not be fixed, and we couldn’t let this program run on my laptop. Although this program could run appropriately on Ryan’s desktop.

System deployment is quite complicate, but shouldn’t like that hard. I ‘ve generated database via Navicat Mysql, and the next step would be setting up SQL client and linking to data source. I was sure that approach was correct.

But I didn’t get what exactly the problem is. …

Week 3

This week, in the studio, we spent half an hour to fix database connection problem, finally we found out solution, download MySQL diver 3.05 and install to .net framework, that software actually is connector.

For the database section, we used mysql to construct, so that is quite fuzzy and abstract, which is inconvenient to monitor changes of database. Ryan provided good idea, to use “Navicat MySql “ to visualize database , which made mysql environment looks similar as Access, very easy to use.

And during client meeting, we demonstrated our blueprint of system (50% completed) and Andrew gave us some comments, thus we will have to modify several parts, especially on membership management form.

Ryan worked very hard during the past 2 weeks; he has done most sections of the system with high quality, well done!! And thanx so much.

I passed all the calendar sections to Ryan although he ‘ve done lots of works. Because he suggested me to let him to do those parts, he thought he would do better and already found approach to fix it…so why not?

He will complete tasks on week 6, and I will finalize system, built report and print function( that part is simple, just link to crystal report and customize layout of report) and test system to make sure every thing works correctly.

I’ve upgraded my software to Visual studio 2005, that program is extremely huge (1.5G), I spent more than an hour to install it. Before I did that, I thought that would be better to install it in the studio class, however after I began to install, I recognized that was really time-consumptive. Once it began, I couldn’t stop until it completed. I left studio room at 8:30 on that day. this is terrible !!

If everything works fine, we will finish the whole IE project on week 7.
