FIT3047 Studio Reflective Journal: April 2007

Week 8

This week in the client meeting, we clarify the un-clear matters for our project, such as the drop-down list in the calendar function, and we confirmed with Andrew about the actors in the business process. We refined the Charge details, there are only tow element are required in our system. The Charge title and Code.

We re-analysis part of the business process, and identified the member’s attitudes. We combined the past member details with current member, because they may rejoin the lodges.

Moreover we did some changes for our system, because that system currently is simple single user system, but we still need the login pages for the future development of the system.

in the meeting, we’ve shown Andrew about our related diagrams (draft) and received some comments.

This weekend what I have to do is modify the E-R diagram and then write description for each single function.

And also we have to begin consider the database stuff, we decided to use MySQl, but we are little bit confused about how to link different tables for relational database. Because previously we just learnt how to dealing with single table. Anyway, I will try it during the weekend.

Week7

This week, we began to do our third assignment which is functional spec. In the studio, we analysis the functionality of White Horse Lodge, and define the business process and stakeholder for each single function. Two main functions for our system: Membership management and calendar system. we need analysis processes for each one.

and what I have to do is design use-case diagram.and then think about some questions will ask to client in the meeting next week

Week 6

This week in studio, we got the feedback of our first assignment, a little bit disappoint, because our format was wrong, so just got lower mark.

We have to fix our assignment, the formal document structure should include introduction, scope, limitation, purpose……… however we missed so many stuff there.

Anyway, we will try to get better next time.

During the holiday we have to begin to think about technical aspects of system, and also the functional spec. oh ,yes, and also lots of assignments have to do…… such as research project..
