Week 5
This week, in the client meeting, Andrew provided us more information about business process for White Horse Lodge.
Basically we focused on each individual functions, especially financial functions and calendar function.
The financial function required each member to make payment every 6 month and for different levels of member, the amount would be different.
The calendar function is quite complicated, the client asked us to build a system like:
When user selected particular date, the calendar swept to monthly mode, and when user double clicked the date, a new window would be open, allowed user to add events. I still not sure how that one works.
Anyway, this technical issue we will consider it later…….
The additional function which we have to put through is the Batch Calendar function, which required the system had allowing user to view the event not only the current year, but also the previous year and the coming year.
In studio, we worked through risk management that is assignment 2 due on next week.

Week4
This week, we meet our client- Mr Andrew Barnden.
During that meeting, we introduced our team, such as the roles and responsibilities for each member
And Andrew briefly introduced the White Horse Masonry Lodge, the purpose, the history of this organisation.
We discussed technical issues, which included:
The system environment, the system should be worked in both windows and Mac environment
The database we should use MYSQL instead of Microsoft ACCESS,etc
Generally our system consisted of 3 functions:
Financial function
Calendar Function
Report functions
We decided to design windows- base application.
But I am quite confused about the Calendar function, and what is charge …..
Andrew will bring some stuffs next semester.
The assignment is due on this Friday. We worked on assignment in the studio, what I did is building standard for 3 graphics, uploading the Gant chart and checking out the whole assignment with Gary, involves structure, grammar….
Thanks Joey!!!! A very hardworking girl, who provided so many bright ideas to our tasks.
We have to study business case, analysis the business process and bring some questions to the meeting.
Week3
This week, in the studio, we worked on governance & standards, which is due on next Friday.
However we didn’t really understand what does this organisation exactly do? Not quite sure the business processes, such as why the calendar system must support 24 hrs…..
Anyway, we will bring all the questions to the meeting and I think we need more details about that organisation. (Different culture some times can be serious boundary, I guess...)
So many stuffs have to do such as defining objectives, scop, requirement…… all of them we will fix them after meet real client.

Week 2
In this week studio, we formatted our team and named our group is “CONNECTUS”.
Five members in our team: Gary, Joey, Ryan, Grace and I.
In our team three of us have good program skill, that’s great!! Our final working system should be good one, I hope so.
We defined role for each group member and distributed our jobs. I am the tester of this project, my main responsibility is focusing on the working system and testing system input and output are correct to ensure everything works on the right track.
And also for best managing our group, we set up out team policy, such as meeting time on every Thursday, offering some kinds of punishment for absence or delay delivery. That is really useful to push each one of us working hard for our project.
For the type of our project, our team preferred to design windows based system. There are two main reasons:
that is quite simply for us rather than web-base application
We all have experience on similar database management system.
We considered some problems probably occurred in our group and discussed conflict solutions like to design template to ensure unique standard of all documents from our group.
during this semester,basically we'll focus on system analysis and documentation. we will begin to work after Gary meet clients from next week.
